ACDIS update: A September full of ACDIS fun—scholarships, CDI Week, and virtual events

CDI Strategies - Volume 14, Issue 35

September is an exciting time for ACDIS and CDI professionals with a few noteworthy things to look forward to.

First, the ACDIS Scholarship application period opens on Tuesday, September 1. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist CDI professionals in enhancing their careers with further education and to increase collaboration among their colleagues by sharing knowledge.

ACDIS will award three scholarships annually for the following educational activities. Please note that ACDIS will provide each recipient with the registration information and/or login instructions, etc., related to accessing their award, rather than a monetary prize.

  • One-year ACDIS membership and enrollment in the ACDIS CDI Apprenticeship program
  • Registration to an online CDI Boot Camp of the recipients’ choice
  • Registration to the 2021 ACDIS National Conference to be held in May 2021

A little later in September, we also pause to celebrate the 10th annual CDI Week, September 14-18. This year’s theme is ACDIS Cinema–CDI: Coming to an Organization Near You, geared towards celebrating CDI superstars in the industry. We put together a poster for the theme, a fact sheet, and some suggestions from the CDI Week Committee for activities to hold in your facility to celebrate.

Following CDI Week is a new virtual event titled: Curtain Call: Behind the Scenes of Star-Studded CDI Programs. This three-day, online event is focused on highlighting exceptional CDI programs. Its sessions offer insight into both clinically significant record review priorities as well as programmatic best practices and areas for innovative CDI approaches. The event will run the week after CDI Week, September 22-25.

Thanks to ACDIS’ sponsors and exhibitors, attendees of this free event will hear from cutting-edge CDI programs about their organizational journey and have the opportunity to learn from, and exchange ideas with, a broad network of peers and sponsors. Attendees will gain insight from the unique expertise of industry thought leaders heading up some of the most successful CDI-related organizations in the country.

ACDIS’ Curtain Call event has take-home educational opportunities for every CDI professional, offering up to 11 continuing education credits for the CCDS and CCDS-O credential.

This event is open to CDI professionals working in the provider setting, for a hospital or a hospital organization.

So, get ready for September, because we have a lot in store!
