ACDIS update: Submit your advice on CDI expansion to the CDI Journal, earn CEUs

CDI Strategies - Volume 16, Issue 25

CDI work is branching into so many different parts of the healthcare system, so let’s talk about it! ACDIS is excited to be preparing for the September/October edition of the CDI Journal, which will be focused on CDI expansion and outpatient topics. While we’re always interested in submissions from members of the CDI community, right now ACDIS is particularly looking for contributions on this subject. If you’d like to have your expertise, advice, and CDI stories included in this upcoming Journal, submit your writing to us by Monday, August 1! If that doesn’t work, still reach out, and we’ll be happy to work with you on finding a good place for your article.

We’re open to any and all submissions on the subject of CDI expansion that you’d like to write on, but if you’d like any pointers we’re especially interested in the following topics:

  • Outpatient
  • Psych
  • Home health
  • Long-term care

To earn one (1) Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS)/CCDS-Outpatient (CCDS-O) continuing education credit (CEU), writers need to have contributed a 700-1,500-word article published in the CDI Journal. Please note that each edition has limited space, so your article may be placed in a different publication as needed, and that only articles chosen for the Journal will be eligible for a CEU at the discretion of the ACDIS editorial team. CEUs for Journal contributions will be awarded on a 0.5 CEUs per 350 published words basis.

If you are interested in being considered for publication, make sure to do the following:

  • Submit an original piece of writing that is between 700 and 1,500 words long to ACDIS Associate Editorial Director Linnea Archibald (larchibald@acdis.org) and Associate Editor Jess Fluegel (jfluegel@acdis.org)
  • Include a short professional bio and headshot with your submission
  • Work with ACDIS editorial staff to edit and adjust the article as needed to suit the needs of ACDIS’ publications

Articles considered for publication in the September/October edition of the Journal must be submitted by Monday, August 1. We look forward to reading your submissions!
