ACDIS update: Submit your clinical and coding tips to the CDI Journal, earn CEUs
ACDIS is always looking for folks from the CDI community to contribute to the CDI Journal, but currently we’re specifically looking for submissions to our July/August edition of the Journal, which will be focused on clinical and coding concerns relevant to CDI. The deadline for the edition is Friday, June 3, and we’d love to feature your expertise, advice, and CDI stories! If that deadline doesn’t work for you but you have an idea, still reach out! We’re happy to work with you and place the article in the best place for both you and us on the editorial team.
While we’re open to any clinical or coding topic you’re interested in writing, we are especially looking for folks to contribute articles focused on:
- Malnutrition documentation and denial defense
- Concurrent coding and how it impacts the CDI process
- Physician education surrounding respiratory failure documentation
- The CDI/coding DRG reconciliation process
- Appeal writing how-to
In order to be considered for publication in the Journal, contributors must:
- Submit an original piece of writing that is between 700 and 1,500 words long to ACDIS Associate Editorial Director Linnea Archibald (larchibald@acdis.org)
- Include a short professional bio and headshot with your submission
- Work with ACDIS editorial staff to edit and adjust the article as needed to suit the needs of ACDIS’ publications
Contributing writers who have a 700-1,500-word article published in the CDI Journal will be granted one (1) Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS)/CCDS-Outpatient (CCDS-O) continuing education credit (CEU), at the discretion of the ACDIS editorial team.
While ACDIS is excited to award a CCDS CEU for contributing to the CDI Journal as a guest writer, please note that the space in each edition is limited and therefore your article may be placed in a different publication as needed. Only articles chosen for the Journal will be eligible for a CEU.
We can’t wait to read your submissions!
