CCDS-O update: ACDIS’ newest certification exam goes live next week

CDI Strategies - Volume 13, Issue 16

It’s no secret: Healthcare is increasingly shifting to outpatient settings and services, driven in part by the growth of Accountable Care Organizations, Medicare Advantage, and risk-based payer contracts. CDI is following suit, with CDI specialists working with physicians in emergency rooms, clinics, and physician practices.

It’s a new paradigm for CDI, pushing the profession outside of hospital walls and into uncharted waters.

ACDIS is proud to debut the Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist-Outpatient (CCDS-O) certification. The CCDS-O exam will be live in more than 300 proctored, secure testing sites across the country starting Monday, April 22.

The goal of the CCDS-O certification program is to develop a mark of excellence for CDI professionals operating in outpatient settings, as well as provide employers with a baseline of competency for existing staff or potential hires. The certification program is also expected to spur the development of core competencies for outpatient CDI professionals and encourage the development and standardization of national best practices for outpatient CDI departments.

Be one of the first in the nation to earn the CCDS-O. Learn more or get started in your journey to certification today!
