Conference corner: La Quinta hotel early bird extended, conference reminders

CDI Strategies - Volume 12, Issue 16

This year’s conference takes place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, in San Antonio, Texas. ACDIS still has hotel room blocks at three area hotels, including the Hyatt, the Hilton, and La Quinta Inn & Suites.

The cutoff date for the Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk, Hilton Palacio Del Rio is tomorrow, April 20.

La Quinta Inn & Suites extended its early bird cutoff to Friday, April 27.

Additionally, those attending, or thinking about attending, this year’s conference should keep the following fun event add-ons in mind:

  • If you’re a new mother and need use of a mother’s room, visit the registration desk for more details.
  • If you’re arriving on Monday, May 21, come down to pre-registration and beat the lines, then join us for the welcome reception in the exhibit hall.
  • Day 1 is “ACDIS Pride Day,” so pack your purple and orange and plan to play it up. We’ll be giving small prizes at random for those with the most “CDI Spirit.”
  • At the end of Day 1, CCDS Coordinator Penny Richards and members of the CCDS Committee answer questions about the CCDS credential, qualifications, exam, and recertification. If you have questions about the CCDS or the upcoming outpatient CDI credential, attend the FAQ session on Day 1 at 5 p.m. in the Hemisfair Ballroom C2.
  • Drop by the ACDIS booth on the first and second day of the conference between 3-3:15 p.m., for a special demonstration of HCPro’s eLearning products including the new ACDIS Apprenticeship program and online Boot Camps.
  • Day 2 of the conference is “State Pride Day,” so wear something representative of your state.
  • Bring a pen (and other goodies) in a bag with your business card to participate in the annual pen swap and make a new friend, drop off your donation at the registration desk and pick up a new packet the following day.
