CDI Strategies - Volume 4, Issue 11

Next week more than 500 CDI specialists from around the country will meet at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago for the 3rd Annual ACDIS Conference. A separate pre-conference event, ICD-9-CM Coding Essentials, will occur on Wednesday, June 2.

Nearly two dozen exhibitors will be located in the ACDIS exhibit hall in Regency Ballrooms C-D. A number of these exhibitors will be offering extracurricular activities, raffles, surveys, and the like. Please stop by the exhibit hall and be sure to thank these businesses for their financial support which helps to keep our conference growing. In addition, please note that Navigant Consulting Inc., will host a panel discussion immediately following the conference on Thursday, June 3 from 4:15-5:30 p.m.

At the conference we will also be honoring our 2010 CDI Professional of the Year and two winners for Recognition of CDI Professional Achievement. Although the winners have been notified, we won’t let the proverbial cat out of the bag until the Networking and Awards Luncheon on Thursday, June 3.

Many conference goers have expressed an interest in networking with others from their state. If you are interested in participating and have not previously been contacted please e-mail ACDIS Associate Director Melissa Varnavas at mvarnavas@cdiassociation.com

Finally, the ACDIS Annual Conference is a way for CDI professionals to learn about current trends and changes in the industry from experts in the field, but it is also an opportunity for you to network, learn from each other, and have some fun. We’ll be hosting our first poster session to share even more ideas and best practices as developed and presented by your colleagues. We are very excited to celebrate the success of the profession with you and look forward to seeing you in Chicago.
