Local chapter update: Apply 30 days in advance to offer CCDS CEUs at your next chapter meeting

CDI Strategies - Volume 12, Issue 7

You’ve finished planning your next local chapter event. You’ve found the speakers and created an agenda. Now, you want to start advertising and getting people interested. Offering CCDS CEUs can be a great way to entice folks to participate.

Though there’s no monetary charge for chapter’s offering these credits, however, there is still a process which chapter leaders must follow.

First, local chapter leaders must complete the local chapter CEU application and email it to CCDS Coordinator Penny Richards (prichards@acdis.org) and ACDIS Editor Linnea Archibald (larchibald@acdis.org) at least 30 days in advance of the meeting. This allows ACDIS the time necessary to process the application and request clarifications if needed.

The application should include all the details for the event (even if there are multiple speakers, please include them on one form). It should be accompanied by speaker/presenter bios (with credentials), a list of learning objectives, a list of benefits to the attendee, and a timed agenda. Please remember that one CEU is provided per hour of instruction, excluding breaks.

A good rule of thumb to ensure you send the application on time is to email it to ACDIS as soon as the speaker and agenda for the meeting are set.

The following is a list of upcoming events for ACDIS local chapters. If you have an upcoming event you would like to include, please email Melissa Varnavas (mvarnavas@acdis.org) and Linnea Archibald (larchibald@acdis.org).
