Local Chapter Update: Collaborating across the continuum

CDI Strategies - Volume 10, Issue 28

On Thursday, July 28, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, CDI and coding professionals from across the New England region will join together for a full-day educational event. On the agenda are sessions about engaging physicians in CDI, a panel discussion featuring documentation improvement from both the coding and CDI perspective, and information about leveraging analytics to enhance CDI efforts. On the planning committee for this event are leaders from the Massachusetts and Connecticut ACDIS Chapter, as well as leaders from NYHIMA and MaHIMA. They’ve spent many months planning the event and expect attendees to top 100 participants. (Register here.)

They’re not the only ones teaming up to provide advance education on the local level. In mid-July, four Hospital Corporation of America facilities join together to host the Florida ACDIS Chapter event. The full-day activity features session on orthopedics, cardiology, and pulmonology, as well as a luau theme, raffles, and other fun events.

In August, the Kentucky and Indiana ACDIS chapters join for a full-day event with seven sessions and two tracks in some slots of educational events. And beyond it’s summer meeting this July at Life Point in Brentwood, the Tennessee ACDIS Chapter will join with THIMA and the Tennessee Hospital Association for a September event in Nashville.

Just as CDI effort within the hospital setting requires collaboration, it’s clear that networking events across the country can reap the benefits of banding together to share their experiences and expertise too. Congratulations to all the amazing volunteers working so hard to make these events a success. Won’t you join them?
