Local chapter update: Leverage the Local Chapter Leadership Toolkit for leadership needs

CDI Strategies - Volume 18, Issue 7

In order to support leaders, ACDIS national and the members of the Chapter Advisory Committee maintain a library of resources focused on common leadership questions which is available on the ACDIS website here (scroll down just below the interactive chapter map): https://acdis.org/chapters/new

The Toolkit is separated into three sections: Getting started, next steps, and advanced offerings and continued growth. It includes information and documents on the following concerns:

  • Getting started:
    • First-year chapter guide, including information about finding chapter leaders, members, and speakers, hosting your first meetings, and surviving the first year
    • ACDIS Local Chapter Agreement Form
    • Leadership types
  • Next steps
    • Guide to hosting your first meeting
    • Virtual meeting guide
    • Expanding participation
    • Sample meetings in a can
    • Blank PowerPoint template
    • Sample onsite volunteer duties
    • Vendor involvement
    • Soliciting and evaluating speakers
  • Advanced offerings, continued growth
    • Leadership team building
    • Sample chapter bylaws
    • Offering ACDIS CCDS/CCDS-O continuing credits

The ACDIS national team and the Chapter Advisory Committee review the documents in the Toolkit annually to identify updates and areas for greater clarity. If you have any suggestions about the Toolkit, feel free to reach out to the team at info@acdis.org.
