Local chapter update: Leveraging the local chapter leadership toolkit

CDI Strategies - Volume 14, Issue 11

Did you know that ACDIS national has a repository of helpful resources, tools, and samples specifically geared toward local chapter leaders? You can find a wealth of free information in the Local Chapter Leadership Toolkit.

Whether your chapter meets formally or informally, has 10 or 200 members, there are resources to help you lead the group effectively and grow your CDI network. The Toolkit is divided into sections by chapter development stage:

  • Getting started: Includes information about finding a host facility, publicizing your group to CDI departments at local organizations, a link to the online membership roster, and sample materials for your first chapter meeting.
  • Next steps: Includes the official local chapter agreement form, roles and responsibilities for chapter leaders, sample meeting formats, suggestions for expanding participation, policies for vendor involvement, advice for obtaining speakers, and more.
  • Advanced offerings, continuing growth: Includes advice for building your leadership team, developing bylaws, handling chapter finances, offering CEUs for chapter events, planning for leadership transitions, and communicating with members through newsletters.

ACDIS national hopes you find value in the Toolkit offerings and that they help you build your chapter and expand your own personal leadership skills. If you have any questions about the Toolkit, please reach out.
