Local chapter update: Time for volunteer leaders to sign their agreement forms!

CDI Strategies - Volume 14, Issue 2

Okay, so it’s not scintillating reading but the ACDIS Local Chapter Agreement Form contains important information for those who have been serving, or who will be serving in a leadership capacity representing ACDIS on the local level.

For one, the agreement form includes recommended best practices for local chapter activities such as the frequency (quarterly) and type (in-person/remote) of meetings which result in the most optimal experience for both leaders and members.

Secondly, the agreement form includes information about the expectations of volunteering and outlines the benefits related to the work. For example, leaders are expected to meet with their leadership teams on a regular basis (monthly), to keep the ACDIS national organization informed about upcoming meetings and events, and encouraging members to complete the online membership roster.

To support these efforts, members of the core leadership team (three individuals from three different organizations who lead the chapter and its volunteer committees) receive 50% off their ACDIS membership the year following their service. The chapters also receive complimentary products from the national organization to facilitate meetings and further the educational offerings of the chapter.

In short, while the annual signing of the ACDIS Local Chapter Agreement Form may seem like a mere formality, volunteers are strongly encouraged to read the document completely to ensure their aware of any changes and remain informed about their benefits.

As a reminder,

  1. This agreement form must be signed by three core team volunteers from three different facilities annually.
    1. If three different volunteers cannot be identified the team should contact national for instructions
    2. The agreement form needs to be completed by January 30, 2020
  2. Core leaders who successfully complete one year of voluntary service are eligible for a discount on ACDIS national membership in the year following their service.
  3. Volunteers may electronically sign this document (e.g., ss://Melissa Varnavas) and completing the remaining information as indicated on the form.

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out to members of the Chapter Advisory Board or ACDIS Events Director Melissa Varnavas.
