Local chapter update: Welcome to our 2024 Chapter Advisory Committee!

ACDIS is excited to announce our volunteers for this year’s ACDIS Chapter Advisory Committee! This committee includes 12 volunteers from a range of backgrounds and experience helping local chapters and networking groups, who will be working as advocates for local chapters and bring their concerns to the national administration. They will also assist in developing best practice policies and procedures for local chapter governance and mentor current local chapter volunteer leadership.

Volunteers were selected according to the committee’s needs in representing the diversity of chapter geography, experience level, and professional background. March:

  • The Texas ACDIS chapter meets Friday, March 8, 2024, 11–1 p.m., via webinar. The program is titled, “BJC Clinical Guidelines & Validation Denials,” and will be presented by Karen Elmore, BSN, RN, CCDS. For information, contact Angelica Cage (angelica.cage@outlook.com).
  • The Kansas City, Missouri ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, March 13, 2024, 2–3:30 p.m., via webinar. The program is titled, “Clinical Documentation Integrity & Coding of Newborns,” and will be presented by Glen Nielson, MSN, RN. For information, contact Debra Canova (debra.canova@uhkc.org).
  • The Northwest ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, March 13, 2024, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for their first quarterly meeting. For information, contact Jenny Taylor (baumertj@slhs.org).
  • The Illinois ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, March 20, 2024, 12–1 p.m., via webinar. The program is titled, “Building Relationships with Providers While Discussing Healthcare Economics,” and will be presented by Cynthia Whichard, RN, BSN, CCDS.   • The Greater New York ACDIS chapter meets Thursday, March 21, 2024, 2–3 p.m., via webinar.   • The Minnesota ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, March 27, 2024, 1–2 p.m., via webinar.
