Note from the ACDIS Editor: Calling to the stand…the 2025 CDI Week theme!

CDI Strategies - Volume 19, Issue 24

by Jess Fluegel

If there’s one thing CDI professionals know quite well, it’s that, “there is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact” (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle). Piecing together the whole picture of a patient’s story is often like following a trail of clues to a smoking gun. With how often I’ve heard CDI professionals talk about feeling like detectives on the case, I can’t tell you how excited I was when ACDIS finalized our plans for this September’s CDI Week.

If you’ve been waiting for the news, the 2025 CDI Week theme is here: CDI and the Case of the Missing Documentation!

If you love a good detective read or old crime show, you’re already in the right spirit of things, but I’ll help you picture it further: think inspecting the fingerprints of an undiagnosed condition with a magnifying glass, cracking codes while wearing a trench coat and a deerstalker hat, catching the documentation red-handed—and calling the whole thing “elementary” while you’re at it. With how much attention to detail this career takes, we thought it was high time to commemorate how all CDI professionals are detectives in the medical field, dedicated to cracking the case and uncovering the truth.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you from September 15–19, so make sure to mark your calendar and look out for festive ideas in the future!

Have ideas for how to celebrate that you’d like to share? Send them to me, and I’ll make sure to add it to our inspiration list for others to use! Interested in serving on the Furthering Education Committee to work with the ACDIS team on CDI Week plans? Our committee applications are open until June 30, so make sure to apply here!
