Note from the ACDIS Editor: Closing out a busy month, looking ahead to more fun

The last few weeks have been busy ones for all of us at ACDIS, as I’m sure our members are well aware. I don’t know about you, but September was a whirlwind around here at ACDIS.

Here’s a quick rundown of some of the things that happened last month alone:

  • The second annual ACDIS CDI Scholarship application period opened on September 1 (if you haven’t already, you can apply here; applications close November 30)
  • The September/October edition of the CDI Journal, focused on CDI education, published on September 1
  • We hosted the 10th annual CDI Week celebration, September 14-18, and connected with more than 21,000 CDI professionals that week through the CDI Week Industry Survey Report, daily Q&As with industry experts, a free sponsored webinar discussing the state of the industry, social media giveaways, discounts, and more
  • We held our first-ever, invite-only Physician Advisor Virtual Roundtable event, September 21, hosting more than 20 physician advisors for roundtable discussions, problem-solving, and networking (be on the lookout for a recap of this event soon!)
  • The Curtain Call: Behind the Scenes of Star-Studded CDI Programs took places, September 22-25, featuring three days of virtual CDI networking and education
  • The ACDIS CDI Leadership Council welcomed a brand-new group of CDI leaders into its ranks for the second Council term, bringing our membership total to more than 260 leaders

Though we’ve closed out what may have been one of our busiest months in 2020, ACDIS still has tons of great opportunities planned for the remainder of the year. Right now, in this very edition of CDI Strategies, you’ll find information about our Diversity in CDI survey, the 2020 CDI Salary Survey, our call for 2021 ACDIS conference speaker applications, and the latest ACDIS Regulatory Committee work.

Plus, we still have one final edition of the CDI Journal (the November/December edition), which will be focused on denials management and appeals, an invite-only CDI Leadership Virtual Roundtable event happening in November, an upcoming December virtual event, and so much more!

Through all of the fall busyness, we’re so thankful to have you, our ACDIS members and CDI community, by our sides. This year has been an odd one for the whole world and our corner of the universe has not been left unscathed. Yet every day, the ACDIS team is inspired by your ingenuity, your perseverance, and your excitement about the profession.

We’re looking forward to this final quarter of 2020 and are anticipating all the great things in store for 2021!
