Note from the Associate Editor: A wealth of opportunities with an ACDIS scholarship

For all that the CDI world is expanding, it can be difficult to invest the time, money, and energy for your professional development on top of other responsibilities. Considering the top reason CDI professionals entered this career was for the chance to develop and grow, according to the 2022 CDI Week Industry Survey results, the ACDIS team knows how much this community appreciates learning opportunities.

Which is why we launched and continue to offer the annual ACDIS CDI Scholarship program.

First, we are offering the Introduction to CDI Scholarship. Of note to those breaking into this career, as well as any leaders and educators who work with new and burgeoning CDI specialists, this scholarship is the perfect ticket to success. The award recipient will receive a one-year ACDIS membership free of charge, accessing the wealth of resources and opportunities that comes with joining the community. For education specific to a beginner’s level, the recipient will also receive enrollment into the ACDIS CDI Apprenticeship program. Please spread the word to anyone you know who is looking for a jumpstart into the field!

Next we have the Professional Development Scholarship, which is perfect for any CDI professional looking for intensive learning on a particular subject. This scholarship award provides registration to an online CDI Boot Camp of the recipient's choice, making it a great opportunity for anyone in CDI to take that next step for their own career or department.

The Outpatient CDI Scholarship is perfect for those looking to step into outpatient CDI as well as anyone already working in outpatient settings. With this award, you receive registration to the ACDIS Symposium: Outpatient CDI, a two-day event happening directly prior to the 2023 ACDIS national conference. It focuses on all the hot topics surrounding this growing work.

Finally, the Melissa Varnavas Scholarship, named after our friend and colleague who we all dearly miss, gives a recipient perhaps one of the most coveted experiences among ACDIS members: registration to the ACDIS national conference, where networking, education, and career building abounds.
