Note from the Associate Editorial Director: Build connections, swap expertise on the ACDIS CDI Leadership Council

CDI Strategies - Volume 17, Issue 32

by Linnea Archibald

While my work on our publications and the ACDIS Podcast are both fairly visible to the general ACDIS community, most of my time is devoted to working with our ACDIS CDI Leadership Council group, which you may not see on a daily basis if you’re a regular ACDIS member or non-member CDI friend.

For the uninitiated, the ACDIS CDI Leadership Council gives industry leaders a place to collaborate and connect over the unique challenges they face. Council members have a chance to forge valuable relationships, advance strategic priorities, and illuminate industry trends through personalized networking experiences and insight-sharing.

If that sounds like an experience you need in your CDI professional life, I’m thrilled to share that the applications for the 2023/2024 Council term are now open through August 31! This will be our fifth term and I’m already so excited about what the next year will hold!

The only barrier of entry is that you meet certain eligibility criteria, which are laid out in detail here. To put it simply, however, if you are a current CDI leader with supervisory responsibilities (over staff, educational, or department decisions) employed by a healthcare provider organization, and you’re able to meet the participation requirements over the term, you’re likely eligible. Eligible titles include, but are not limited to:

  • CDI VP/executive director
  • CDI director
  • CDI manager
  • CDI supervisor
  • CDI lead
  • CDI auditor/educator
  • Physician advisor
  • Medical director of CDI

By joining the ACDIS CDI Leadership Council, leaders gain access to the following:

  • Research insights: The Council is powered by member research and intelligence on mission-critical CDI subjects. Throughout the year, members take up to eight sponsor and editor-designed surveys on topics essential to their work and receive early access to research findings.
  • Virtual network building: With an exclusive online community and bimonthly members-only calls, plus small-group professional matchmaking opportunities, Council members have unprecedented, ongoing access to fellow CDI leaders who share their enthusiasm for peer exchange and bring fresh perspective to business challenges and opportunities.
  • Custom experiences: Council members receive exclusive invitations to opportunities tailored to their areas of interest and expertise, such as the annual CDI Leadership Exchange, which brings together up to 40 industry leaders for roundtable-style idea swapping, problem solving, and networking in a resort setting. Eligible members are also able to apply for an ACDIS Leadership Council Mastermind group annually. Mastermind groups consist of eight to 10 members who agree to meet on a bimonthly basis to discuss member-submitted topics.

Council members do not need to be members of ACDIS national or pay a fee, but you do need to meet those eligibility and participation requirements.

We encourage you to apply and join this inspiring group of CDI leaders! The application period closes August 31, after which applicants will be notified of membership appointments in early September.
