Note from the Associate Editorial Director: Closing out another podcast year

CDI Strategies - Volume 19, Issue 49

by Linnea Archibald

Cohosting, producing, and editing the ACDIS Podcast was never on my professional bingo card, but over the last few years, it has become one of my favorite things we get to do here at ACDIS. As we approach the end of 2025 and our last couple of episodes of the year, I wanted to take a moment to look back on where we’ve been this year.

Since 2023, we have offered 0.5 ACDIS CEU per podcast episode and this year, we continued to do so. Based on member feedback, we also extended the CEU period for each episode to the Sunday night following the episode’s release (as opposed to Friday night), giving listeners four full days to claim their 0.5 CEU. If you took advantage of all those episode CEU opportunities, you earned 13.5 ACDIS CEUs just from the podcast this year.

For those keeping track, that’s 45% of your CEU requirements to recertify your CCDS or CCDS-O credential since credential holders are required to submit 30 CEUs every two years.

Beyond the CEU opportunities it offered, when we enter 2026, the ACDIS Podcast will have brought 27 episodes to our listeners and 34 guests from all areas of the CDI profession. Though the CEU period for each of these episodes has closed (except for our final two episodes still to come in 2025), there’s still plenty to be learned from our guests and I’d encourage you to catch up on anything you may have missed or topics of particular interest to your CDI practice.

As we close out the year, I hope you’ll tune in for our December 17 and December 31 episodes and claim your 0.5 CEU for each. You can sign up for notifications about new episodes by subscribing to our free weekly eNewsletter, CDI Strategies. If you miss it, don’t worry: we’ll be back in the new year with even more great episodes!

We say it every other week on the podcast, but please do send us your ideas, topic requests, and feedback on the show. We would love to continue to serve your needs well in 2026! Send us an email at info@acdis.org anytime. The email address goes directly to our team and we love to interact with our members personally, so don’t be shy!

Until then: happy listening, happy holidays, and take care, everyone!
