CDI Strategies - Volume 12, Issue 6

As of today, 18 people have submitted applications for poster presentations at the 2018 ACDIS Conference, May 21-24, in San Antonio, Texas. Here are the topics we’ve received thus far:

  • The value of a lead clinical documentation specialist
  • CDI/coding in the huddle: A football analogy for CDI and coding collaboration
  • Role of CDI in length of stay to facilitate case management in discharge planning
  • Ambulatory CDI Hierarchical Condition Categories/risk adjustment factors
  • The inception and journey of a CDI program: University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System, Chicago
  • CDI in obstetrics
  • How to incorporate pediatric CDI in a pediatric residency program
  • CDI collaboration for congestive heart failure readmission reduction
  • Thanking providers for excellent documentation
  • CDI one step beyond…
  • Take your CDI practice to the next level of excellence with quality indicators
  • Achieving documentation excellence through physician education and collaboration
  • Development of a CDI career ladder
  • CDI and quality indicator collaboration
  • Development of a medicine resident documentation curriculum
  • CDI role in the journey to quality improvement
  • Pressure injuries and decubitus ulcers
  • Malnutrition and the importance of acuity

Do you have a great idea for a poster presentation? Share your success story, your innovative process to solve a problem, or even something that didn’t work well at all and what you did to find a better solution.

And don’t let a similar topic listed above prevent you from submitting your application.  Offering multiple perspectives on CDI topics is one of the greatest things about the poster presentations. We can all learn from each other and come away from the 11th annual ACDIS conference with “One Thing,” to create some great ideas that move CDI efforts in a positive direction.

Be part of the action. Be a part of the fun. The deadline for submition is next Friday, February 16 for the Conference Committee’s consideration. Poster presenters receive $200 off conference registration and four (4) CCDS CEUs for participating.
