Note from the CDI Education Director: An introduction, Advisory Board plans, and the upcoming year

I am honored to introduce myself as the new CDI education director for HCPro. With a robust background in CDI and a passion for education, I am excited to embark on this journey with all of you. My goal is to enhance our educational offerings, ensuring they are comprehensive, relevant, and accessible to all CDI professionals.
In the coming year, my focus will be on developing innovative training programs and educational materials that address the evolving needs of our community. We aim to integrate cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) in CDI, strategies for managing denials, and refining the overall CDI process. By equipping our members with the latest knowledge and skills, we can collectively elevate the quality of healthcare documentation.
As a member of the ACDIS Advisory Board, I am also committed to addressing the needs of our membership through strategic initiatives. The board's goals for the upcoming year include:
- Exploring CDI and artificial intelligence (AI): We will investigate how AI can be leveraged to improve the accuracy and efficiency of clinical documentation, providing our members with insights and tools to stay ahead in this rapidly advancing field.
- Managing denials: Developing robust strategies to reduce and manage denials will be a key focus. We aim to provide actionable guidance and best practices to help you navigate this challenging aspect of CDI.
- Enhancing the CDI process: Continuous improvement of the CDI process is essential. We will explore innovative approaches and share success stories to inspire and guide your efforts.
I look forward to collaborating with each of you and hearing your insights and suggestions. Together, we can build a stronger, more knowledgeable CDI community. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to excellence in clinical documentation.
