Note from the Editorial Manager: Lend your voice to the 2024 CDI Salary Survey

CDI Strategies - Volume 18, Issue 44

by Karla Kozak

Having open discussions about salary and compensation can be daunting. Putting a numerical value on your worth as an employee is uncomfortable, and determining how your salary stacks up against your peers can be frustrating. At ACDIS, however, we firmly believe that knowledge is power, and that’s why we host our annual CDI Salary Survey.

Whatever your role, background, or number of years in the CDI field, your experience matters, and the CDI Salary Survey allows the CDI community to share details anonymously about their compensation each year. The data collected from this survey helps provide perspective on the profession’s past, present, and future, and your response will help ensure that data is as accurate as possible!

I’m pleased to share that the 2024 CDI Salary Survey is now open until October 25. Please take a moment to make sure your experiences are represented. The more responses ACDIS receives to the survey, the more actionable the data will be.

Ultimately, ACDIS hopes CDI professionals will leverage the data in the report to show their worth. For example, you can use the information to make the case for a higher salary by gathering the average salary ranges of those with similar titles, years of experience, certifications, and educational backgrounds, as well as those working in similar geographical reasons, and using it to support your salary proposal.

One respondent to the 2023 CDI Salary Survey wrote, “As the CDI profession has become largely remote, I think employers need to be reminded that they are competing for experienced CDI specialists with systems nationwide and, therefore, pay must be commensurate with a national standard.” Through the CDI Salary Survey, ACDIS aims to provide you with the tools you need to present your case to leadership.

You can also use information related to staffing levels to justify additional positions in your department. Or look at which certifications are held by many high-ranking CDI professionals to chart your path forward. The ways in which this information can help the CDI profession grow are endless. However, to provide this report, ACDIS first needs to obtain the data, and only you can help us do that.

To access the survey, click here or copy and paste this link into your browser: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2024-CDI-Salary-Survey.

If you are not a CDI professional or do not hold a closely related position, please forward this survey to an individual who works in this capacity.

We appreciate your input to this invaluable data for CDI departments and professionals across the nation!
