Note from the Editorial Manager: Nominate a peer for an ACDIS Achievement Award or submit a poster proposal by the end of the year!

CDI Strategies - Volume 18, Issue 56

by Karla Kozak

Every year when December comes around, I can’t help but reflect on my own personal journey the past 365 days. This year, more so than years past, I find myself utterly exhausted; however, I also feel an overwhelming amount of gratitude toward the people that have stood by my side during both the wins and losses of the past 12 months. Though I may be counting down the days until the holidays, I can’t help but be thankful for my community. As the year winds down, I imagine many of you feel the same.

I want to encourage you to channel that gratitude and nominate a peer for an ACDIS Achievement Award. Nothing says, “I appreciate you,” like recognition from your community, and ACDIS wants to help you recognize those who have picked you up when you’ve fallen and celebrated with you when you’ve succeeded. Whether it’s someone who fosters collaboration between providers and the CDI department (a perfect nominee for the Excellence in Provider Engagement Award!) or someone who has dedicated themselves to serving their CDI peers (sounds like the Melissa Varnavas Spirit of Service Award to me!), take a moment to recognize their contributions.

Recipients will be honored as a special ceremony at the 2025 ACDIS conference, and you can learn more about all the awards offered for 2025 here. Nominations are open through the end of the year and can be submitted at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/25awards.

If you’re looking for a different way to show your appreciation for your CDI community, consider sharing your experiences through a poster at the 2025 ACDIS conference. This is a great way to give back by offering helpful advice, lessons learned, obstacles overcome, and success achieved. There is so much we stand to learn from one another, and this is such a simple and easy way to offer your knowledge.

Plus, selected poster creators (one per poster) receive $200 off conference admission, as a thank you for your time and contribution to the event. Just like award nominations, poster applications must be submitted by December 31 to be considered. You can submit your proposal here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/25poster.

Warmest wishes this holiday season!
