Note from the Editorial Manager: Physician advisors, CCDS prep, and outpatient CDI, oh my! An ACDIS preconference for everyone
by Karla Kozak
We’ve got the perfect potion brewing here at ACDIS HQ, and we’re so excited to share it with you. I swear this isn’t a trick—just a treat! For 2026, we’re pleased to offer not one, not two, but three preconference events in 2026. Each of these serves as a standalone event, providing targeted education for a specific audience. Instead of searching for sessions that relate to your niche, you can choose an entire event to meet your needs. Plus, they’re hosted in the same location, immediately before the ACDIS conference, for those wishing to attend that as well.
The ACDIS Physician Advisor Forum is designed for providers engaged in CDI efforts, whether they are new to the role or are seasoned veterans. The first day offers two tracks so that each attendee can pick the sessions that interest them most, and then the event comes together for a unifying experience on day two. This year, sessions will focus on artificial intelligence, query responses, denials mitigation, and more. View the full agenda here.
Another option is the ACDIS Symposium: Outpatient CDI, which is intended for CDI professionals in the outpatient or ambulatory arena (or those looking to branch out into these settings)! Across two days, sessions will provide case studies on building programs, deciphering commonly seen diagnoses, artificial intelligence, value-based care, and more. View the full agenda here.
The ACDIS Physician Advisor Forum and ACDIS Symposium: Outpatient CDI also kick off with an exciting keynote from a communication expert and attendees of these two events share networking breaks and meals in our Exhibit Hall.
Lastly, we’re pleased to present a brand-new preconference event for 2026: The CCDS Exam Prep Preconference. This two-day intensive course is intended to prepare candidates to sit for the CCDS exam in the near future. Attendees should currently meet (or soon meet) the prerequisites for the CCDS exam.
This fast-paced course is not intended to be an introduction to CDI but is exclusively dedicated to covering focus areas of the exam. Attendees of this event will share meals and breaks exclusively with each other, building connections and confidence. They’ll also gain access to a comprehensive practice exam upon completion. Learn more here.
Note that each of these three events take place April 19-20, 2026, in Chicago. They are three separate events, each with their own registration required, so you cannot move freely between them, but we promise each will be interesting enough that you won’t want to leave! We really hope to see you there!
