Note from the Product Coordinator: Happy holidays, and last chance to nominate a peer for an ACDIS Achievement Award!

CDI Strategies - Volume 15, Issue 56

by Karla Kozak

Here at ACDIS, we hope you are all enjoying the holiday season. We have been fortunate enough to spend this time surrounded by friends and family, and we wish the same for you. As we prepare to ring in the new year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on how grateful we are to each other. There are so many people that keep the well-oiled machine known as ACDIS running—often people that our members don’t get to interact with because they work solely behind the scenes, like our friends in event planning, who work tirelessly each year to make sure the ACDIS conference runs smoothly. It takes a village here, and I’m grateful for all the people that make me love what I do.

Now, I’d like you to consider: Who are you grateful for? Who rocks your CDI world? We want to know so that we can recognize them, too. This is your last chance to nominate a colleague for an ACDIS achievement award—applications close in just a few days on December 31, 2023. With five categories, there’s so many ways to celebrate the achievements of your colleagues.

  • For that lifelong CDI professional who has dedicated their career in the profession, consider the CDI Professional for the Year award, ACDIS’ highest honor.
  • For a CDI professional who has made significant strides at their organization and has at least two years of experience, the Accomplishment in CDI award is perfect.
  • For the provider or CDI professional that serves as the go-to liaison between the CDI department and your facility’s clinical providers, the Excellence in Provider Engagement award is the one.
  • For the selfless CDI professional who exudes a passion for the profession and an endless desire to help others, consider the Melissa Varnavas Spirit of Service award.
  • For the CDI department that is working ceaselessly to create a diverse and inclusive environment for their team members, recognize these efforts with a nomination for the Diversity in CDI award.

Recipients of all five awards will be honored by the ACDIS community in a special ceremony at the 2024 ACDIS conference. Click here to nominate that special CDI professional on your team and remember that all nominations must be received by December 31!

End the year on a high note by recognizing the contributions of a peer, and of course, don’t forget to thank your village. To my ACDIS village: Thank you, I appreciate you, and I look forward to all that 2024 has in store for us.

May you all have a safe, happy, and healthy new year!
