Symposium spotlight: What to pack for Austin
Austin, Texas, starts in just 16 days!
The third annual ACDIS Symposium: Outpatient CDI in Austin, Texas, starts in just 16 days. As you make your final preparations to leave in just a couple short weeks, the ACDIS team has some reminders to ensure your trip goes smoothly.
First, make sure you visit the ACDIS Blog regularly and subscribe to CDI Strategies. We’ve been posting helpful hints and tips to help you get the most out of the education and networking opportunities available at the Symposium and we will continue to do so as the date rapidly approaches.
Second, we will be using the ACDIS Symposium conference app again this year, so be on the lookout for instructions on downloading and logging in. We do not have printed materials available onsite, so the app is your way to access all the presentations. It also helps you schedule your time and connect with other attendees and speakers.
What to wear…
Wear comfortable but professional clothing, comfortable shoes you can walk in, and bring extra layers (such as a sweater or jacket). The ACDIS conference staff do not control of the temperature in the conference center. Temperatures fluctuate from room to room and session to session depending on the time of day and number of people in a given space.
Also remember that no outfit is complete without your conference badge. If you arrive at the conference without it, security cannot let you into the exhibit hall or conference session rooms.
Though the Symposium will be indoors, keep in mind that there’s lots to do in the area after sessions end for the day, so pack some walking shoes and get ready to enjoy everything Austin has to offer! (Stay tuned for a list of suggestions straight from ACDIS soon!)
What to bring…
Bring your business cards! Networking is one of the most important aspects of the Symposium. Be sure to bring plenty of business cards so you can share your contact information with colleagues and enter drawings in the exhibit hall.
Opening reception reminder…
Don’t miss the opening day reception in the exhibit hall after sessions have ended, on Thursday, November 14, for networking, snacks, and a complementary drink. We look forward to seeing you there!
