Note from the CCDS Coordinator: CCDS New Year’s Resolutions
By Penny Richards
With 2017 rapidly coming to a close, I’ve spent some time thinking about what I hope all CCDS holders will resolve to do in the new year. While heading to the gym, eating healthier foods, and the like are all admirable goals for 2018, don’t forget to include your CCDS in your list of New Year’s resolutions.
To help you get started making your list, here are a few things I think should make the cut. Repeat after me, in 2018, I resolve to:
- Know my recertification due date
- Find a safe and easy-to-find place to store copies of all my CEU certificates
- Start planning for my CCDS recertification at least 30 days before it’s due
- Ensure quick processing by double checking my application before submitting to ensure all the required information is provided
- Thoroughly report my CEU list, including topic, sponsor, date, and number of CEUs/hours earned, and ensure all the needed information is easy to read
- Follow up with the CCDS office to make sure my paperwork arrived if I don’t receive a confirmation within a week
- Excitedly give my manager a copy of my recertification verification letter, send a copy to HR for my file (as appropriate), and happily continue using CCDS as my most valued and treasured credential
As you ramp up to the holidays and the new year, also remember to reach out to ACDIS and the CCDS office if you have any questions or need to change your contact information. We’d love to hear from you and make sure everything’s up-to-date for 2018.
Please note, though, that the ACDIS offices will be closed for the Christmas holiday on Monday, December 25, and Tuesday, December 26, and for New Year’s Day on Monday, January 1.
Happy holidays from all of us at ACDIS!
