News: Newsweek publishes list of the world’s top 10 hospitals
Newsweek has partnered with a global market research and consumer data company, Statista Inc., to develop their own ranking of the top hospitals. Unlike the lists from U.S. News & World Report, the Leapfrog Group, Healthgrades, etc., however, this list is global rather than focused on U.S. hospitals only.
According to the Newsweek announcement, the hospitals on the top 10 list are “at the forefront of adapting to [new] challenges while providing top-notch patient care.” The selection criteria used to place hospitals on the list, however, remains opaque.
Here are the hospitals that made the top 10 list from Newsweek:
- The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota
- The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio
- Singapore General Hospital in Bukit Merah, Singapore
- Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland
- Charité in Berlin, Germany
- Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston
- Toronto General Hospital in Canada
- University of Tokyo Hospital in Japan
- Lausanne University Hospital in Switzerland
- Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer in Israel
A list of the top 1,000 hospitals worldwide will be available tomorrow, March 29, according to Newsweek.
