Note from the Product Coordinator: Your chance to discover ACDIS PRO

CDI Strategies - Volume 16, Issue 25

by Karla Accorto

It’s that time of year again: the start of what I fondly refer to as ACDIS Pocket Guide Season. From now until Christmas, authors Laurie Prescott and Dr. James Manz, as well as myself, will be hard at work putting together the latest editions of the ACDIS Pocket Guide and the ACDIS Outpatient Pocket Guide. Some of you may be surprised to learn that this is a process that takes nearly six months but let me tell you—we need every second. Even if we had six years to work on each edition it wouldn’t feel like enough time, as Laurie will be the first to say.

For those of you who love using the ACDIS Pocket Guide as a reference but are looking for something more customizable and portable—or for those of you who are simply on the hunt for the latest and greatest CDI reference technology!—I encourage you to join Laurie and I for our upcoming demo of ACDIS PRO.

ACDIS PRO contains all the great information you’re accustomed to seeing in the ACDIS Pocket Guide but with the added benefits of an online resource. What exactly does this mean? Well, if you ask Laurie, it means she can write whatever and however much she wants because she’s not limited by this editor, who has to maintain a reasonable page count! This results in conditions that are exclusive to ACDIS PRO, sample queries for specific conditions, bonus content such as news articles and expert Q&As, and so much more.

If you ask me, I’d say it means a few things. First, additional content is absolutely a bonus because can you ever really have too much information? If you’re a reader like me, the answer is absolutely not. But also, to me, an online tool means portability and efficiency. Want to prove to a physician why a certain aspect of the documentation is needed? Pull up ACDIS PRO on your phone. Sick of flipping through pages to find the condition you’re looking for? Use ACDIS PRO’s smart search to locate the information you need that much faster. And because it’s online, ACDIS PRO also has the benefit of being updated regularly—no need to wait until next year’s edition to get the latest Coding Clinic guidance or ICD-10 updates.

With all that said, I’d like to personally invite you to join Laurie and me on Wednesday, July 20 at 1 p.m. eastern as we talk all things ACDIS PRO. Click here to register and let us know you’ll be there, or copy and paste this link into your browser: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2218973217666053136

In the meantime, please email me with any questions you have regarding ACDIS PRO—you never know, we may just answer your question during the demo!
