Note from the Editorial Manager: New white paper on the role, value of a physician advisor available now!
by Karla Kozak
Thinking about creating a physician advisor role at your organization? Wondering how you can standardize the work of your physician champions or take your physician advisor program to the next level?
I am so pleased to announce that the ACDIS Physician Advisor Committee has just released its first white paper. Aptly titled Transforming Healthcare Delivery: The Role and Impact of Physician Advisors in Health Systems, the paper is available to all ACDIS members and covers topics such as recommended qualifications and experience, primary responsibilities, reporting structure, measuring return on investment, and more.
This white paper is the perfect place to start if you’re looking to add a physician advisor role to your CDI department or get a better understanding of how physicians can collaborate with CDI.
I’d like to thank the members of the 2023-2024 ACDIS Physician Advisor Committee, who spent the better part of a year developing and revising this paper. These members include:
- Travis Bias, DO, MPH, FAAFP
- Eric R. Brown, MD, PhD, FACOG, FACS
- A.J. Hegg, MD, CCDS
- Disha Mahendra, MD
- Vaughn Matacale, MD, CCDS
- Christopher Riccard, MD
The ACDIS Physician Advisor Committee was formed in 2023 and is dedicated to creating resources and publishing guidance for physician advisors. We recently welcomed three new members to the committee and are currently determining the focus of the 2024-2025 term.
Stay tuned to see what resource we’ll be bringing you next!
