Note from the Director: Vote in the 2025 Advisory Board Elections

CDI Strategies - Volume 19, Issue 12

The ACDIS Advisory Board provides our association with guidance and feedback, offering industry expertise through authoring white papers (for ACDIS membership) and position papers (for the CDI community as a whole). In addition to this advice, you can also hear from our Board Members in ACDIS Quarterly Member Calls, at the national conference, and as occasional guests on the ACDIS Podcast.

The Board’s membership is designed to represent the make-up of our association. Comprised of 12 individuals with diverse professional backgrounds, the Advisory Board includes:

  • Eight clinicians or professionals with advanced clinical training or experience, which may include registered nurses possessing an RN licensure, physician assistants (PA) or nurse practitioners (NP), or foreign medical graduates (MBBS, etc.)
  • Two individuals possessing HIM/coding certification
  • Two physicians possessing an MD or DO licensure

Board members are elected for three-year terms, although this cadence was adjusted during the pandemic.

For 2025, the ACDIS Board has vacancies for one individual from an HIM background and one individual from a clinical background. There was only one qualified candidate for the HIM role, so the Board reviewed their application and unanimously agreed that they met all requisite criteria. This candidate will be appointed to the Board for the new term beginning in May.

We received many applications for one clinical opening, and the Board has narrowed the qualified candidates down to four. ACDIS members can read the candidates’ bios and vote for their preferred representative here: https://acdis.org/2025-acdis-advisory-board

Please note that voting is only open to current ACDIS members. As a result, the candidates and voting will not appear if you are not logged into the ACDIS website. Voting will close on April 11, 2025.
