ACDIS update: It’s time to submit a poster, nominate a peer for an award for the 2026 conference!

CDI Strategies - Volume 19, Issue 40

Each year, one of the big highlights of the annual ACDIS conference are the ACDIS Achievement Awards and ACDIS poster presentations. And with the 2026 conference taking place April 20-23, it’s already time to submit your applications! The nomination period for the ACDIS Achievement Awards and poster applications is open now through Friday, December 12, 2025.

The Awards will be presented to recipients in a special ceremony, and the posters will be on display in the exhibit hall during the conference.

First, ACDIS posters empower you with an opportunity to show the CDI community what you, your team, and your organization have accomplished and inspire other conference attendees in the processPosters detail an innovative project, newly established protocol, or successful educational outreach at your organization, and poster creators can offer insight and answer questions from passers-by during a designated break at the conference.

If your group’s poster is selected, one member will receive $200 off conference admission, and all members will receive four ACDIS CEUs. You can learn more about the requirements for poster presentations here. To submit your poster idea for consideration, click here!

Next, if you know a CDI professional whose achievements should be recognized, consider nominating them for an award using this form. Click on the links below to learn more about the qualifications for each of these prestigious awards:

  • CDI Professional of the Year: This award is the highest honor bestowed by the Association and recognizes an individual who stands out as a consummate representative of the best attributes of a CDI professional. The nominee must have at least 10 years as a CDI professional at the time of their nomination.
  • Accomplishment in CDI: This award recognizes an individual who has made significant achievements as a CDI professional in their facility or within their broader organization. The nominee must have at least two years as a CDI professional at the time of their nomination.
  • Melissa Varnavas Spirit of Service: This award is named in honor of our friend and colleague, Melissa Varnavas. It recognizes an individual who has committed themselves to service by volunteering their time and skills to assist their peers and advance the CDI profession.
  • Diversity in CDI: This award is intended to honor those organizations whose CDI departments are going above and beyond with creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. Diversity in CDI looks like folks from different racial and ethnic backgrounds, those from minority groups in leadership positions, different educational backgrounds outside of the traditional clinical realms, inclusion of all gender identities and sexual orientations, and all abilities.

All nominations for Achievement Awards and poster proposals will be reviewed and selected by the ACDIS Events Committee in conjunction with ACDIS leadership.

Note that all poster applications and awards nominations must be submitted by the end of the year to be considered. We cannot accept any submissions after December 12, 2025.

We can’t wait to read about your amazing projects and incredible peers!
