Note from the Associate Editorial Director: Celebrate ACDIS’ 20th birthday by sharing your innovative ideas on the podium
by Linnea Archibald
Those of us on the ACDIS team often say that the conference is a reset point during the year for us. No matter the location or the lineup of phenomenal keynote speakers, the biggest takeaway we take home from the conference is awe and appreciation for the CDI community.
Every year, we receive more than a hundred presentation proposals for the conference, and the Events Committee spends months selecting sessions and building an agenda in collaboration with our staff. It always results in an incredible event. As we celebrate ACDIS’ 20th birthday in 2027, we want to create the best conference yet. And that process starts with gathering the best and brightest speaker applications possible.
Right now, you can submit your proposals through August 3 using this form (note that you will need to create an account in the system to submit). Applications are open for the following in-person events in Las Vegas:
- ACDIS Conference (May 16–19, 2027)
- ACDIS Symposium: Outpatient CDI (May 15–16, 2027)
- ACDIS Physician Advisor Forum (May 15–16, 2027)
Session topics vary, covering best practices, provider engagement, clinical conditions, coding considerations, regulatory updates, and more. If you need help deciding what to submit, click here for a list of which topics we’re hoping to see more of at each event in 2027.
If you’re selected for a spot on the podium by our Events Committee, you’ll receive free admission to the event for which you’re selected (up to two speakers per session), plus the chance to advance your professional development, share your expertise with the CDI community, and give back to the profession.
Remember that the information you submit in your application will be used in the conference agenda if you are selected, so please make sure to do the following:
- Submit a complete proposal, answering all questions included in the application
- Include an up-to-date biography
- Complete all your contact information, so that we can both reach you and validate your registration details
- Include a draft of your slide presentation, if possible, as this may increase your chances of being selected! If you don’t have a draft available, a detailed outline is very helpful to the committee
Presentations should be 50 minutes in length to allow for 10 minutes of Q&A at the end of each hour-long session. You are welcome to submit more than one session, but you need to submit each session proposal separately. Vendors are welcome to submit applications but will be subject to the same committee review as all other applications, and all proposed sessions should refrain from advertising a product, outlining a use case for a product, or including any other form of commercial bias.
You can learn more details about the application process here, but please feel free to reach out to the ACDIS team anytime at info@acdis.org.
We can’t wait to hear what you have to share with the CDI community!
