I always look forward to the magic of CDI Week, but never more than this year as we celebrate the profession around the fantastical theme of “Knights of the CDI Round Table!” Between your brave quests slaying denial dragons and rescuing documentation damsels, I would like to share a few CDI Week activities we’ve prepared for you and cordially invite you to next month’s free webinar!

First, the data for this year’s CDI Week Industry Survey is in, and we’re on a knightly quest to share its insights far and wide. So, armor up and join our round table on Thursday, September 17, 2026, 1-2:30 p.m. Eastern for the 2026 CDI Week State of the Industry webinar, featuring an in-depth discussion and an open question and answer session on the results!

This year, more than 800 respondents answered questions on the following topics:

• Provider engagement and education
• Query practice and compliance
• Denials mitigation and CDI involvement
• Outpatient and risk adjustment
• Pediatrics and neonatal CDI

The data collected from this survey can offer CDI professionals insight not only into their own professional careers but also into the direction of their CDI programs compared to trends within the broader CDI industry.

Next, the ACDIS Furthering Education Committee and I have been hard at work preparing fantasy-themed activities for you and your team to enjoy during CDI Week! You might have already seen the beautiful CDI Week poster available for download, or even checked out the list of themed activity ideas ready to inspire you, but we haven’t stopped there. Check out these new activity resources to make your CDI Week celebrations even more magical!

• Riddle-A-Day Activity: Share a CDI riddle each day with your team during CDI Week!
• Quest BINGO card: Networking has never been this fun! See who can get a BINGO or “blackout” first in this fun get-to-know-you spin on the classic game.
• CDI Tournament of Champions Activity: Compete in these fun CDI-related challenges during CDI Week within your team or between departments!
• Team "Coat of Arms" Challenge: Invite everyone on your team to design their own coat of arms to share during CDI Week or even in a friendly contest!

If that’s not enough, the Furthering Education Committee is also excited to announce we are running a small “Coat of Arms” contest for the CDI community! From now until September 18, 2026, you can work together with your fellow team members to design a coat of arms that represents your CDI team and submit it to potentially win a free ACDIS book!
