Webinar: 2020 IPPS proposed rule—Update and action plan
The fiscal year (FY) 2020 inpatient prospective payment system (IPPS) proposed rule released in April 2019 (available here) contains many changes to MS-DRGs that, if finalized, will significantly affect the day-to-day work of physicians, CDI specialists, and inpatient coding professionals invested in MS-DRG documentation and coding integrity and compliance.
As an additional benefit for 2019 ACDIS conference attendees, ACDIS broadcast this free 90-minute program detailing the proposed changes, which include approximately 1,500 revisions to the CC/MCC lists. Written and presented by James S. Kennedy, MD, CCS, CCDS, CDIP, president of CDIMD-Physician Champions near Nashville, Tennessee, and a speaker at the 2019 ACDIS conference, this program shares details on how to comment to CMS regarding these changes before June 24, 2019, in what should be in the best interest of the patient, the providers, and the nation. Dr. Kennedy offers insight and strategies for navigating the proposed changes and financial impact.
Conference attendees were invited to attend this webinar, 2020 IPPS proposed rule: Update and action plan, on June 6, at 1 p.m. eastern. Both ACDIS members and non-members alike can view the recording and download the slides from this page.
