ACDIS update: Diversity and Inclusion Committee celebrates Disabilities Awareness Month
March 27, 2025
CDI Strategies - Volume 19, Issue 13
March marks both Women’s History Month and Disability Awareness Month. Earlier this month, we asked the Diversity and Inclusion Committee to reflect on the contributions of women in history and contemporary society.
To mark another significant aspect of this month with our ACDIS community, we asked the Committee to offer some thoughts on the importance of disabilities awareness. Here’s what they had to say:
- "Being a pediatrician who has practiced for more than 15 years, all persons with developmental disabilities are close to my heart, especially children. I consider them angels here on earth."
- “It is important to stay educated, aware, and informed of disabilities and have empathy for those impacted. National Disability Awareness Month aims to not only increase information and awareness but to also promote inclusion and recognize and celebrate the numerous contributions of people with disabilities. As leaders, we should strive to ensure access and opportunities for all!”
We hope you’re taking a moment to mark this month with your departments and personally!
