ACDIS update: MIS-C ACDIS Podcast episode now available
Following some technical difficulties, a recorded version of the August 12 ACDIS Podcast is now available on our website and via Apple Podcasts, Google Play, and Spotify.
The topic of this episode is the presentation of COVID-19 in children and the CDI team’s effect. The ACDIS Regulatory Committee recently released a paper on the same topic. With the progression of the pandemic, the role of CDI specialists has become a crucial part in the effort to accurately track the public’s health. CDI specialists are uniquely positioned to provide support to both clinicians and coders for the virus’ impact, while continuously rising to the challenge of staying current with COVID-19 updates.
Up until now, the public health data collection has been mainly focused on the adult COVID-19 patient, but CDI professionals are beginning to see that data indicating that COVID-19 is impacting children’s health as well. The podcast episode and Regulatory Committee paper seek to shed light on this condition.
