Local chapter update: Chapter Advisory Committee to cover speaker recruitment, preparation during July 28 panel discussion

If you’re a current volunteer assisting an ACDIS local chapter or networking group in some capacity, we invite you to join members of the Chapter Advisory Committee on Friday, July 28, 1-2 p.m. eastern, for a discussion about speaker recruitment and preparation. The panel discussion will be led by ACDIS Associate Editorial Director Linnea Archibald and feature five members of the Chapter Advisory Committee:

  • Amy Bush from the pediatric ACDIS networking group (APDIS)
  • Paula Rector from Georgia
  • Rani Stoddard from California
  • Jenny Taylor from Idaho/Washington
  • Ashely Vahey from Pennsylvania

During this call, committee members will be discussing tools and resources available to chapter and networking group volunteers, as well as giving concrete advice on the following topics:

  • Soliciting and selecting new speakers
  • Selecting topics
  • Communicating expectations
  • Evaluating speaker and event success

  • The Kansas City, Missouri ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, August 9, 2023, 2–3:30 p.m., via webinar. The program is titled, “CDI's Role in Denials Avoidance,” and will be presented by Glenn Krauss, BBA, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPUR, CCDS, C-CDI, C-DAM, C-PA.   • The Texas ACDIS chapter meets Friday, August 25, 2023, 10–11 a.m., via webinar.
