CDI Strategies - Volume 13, Issue 56

The Virginia ACDIS local chapter met on Saturday, December 14 for four hours at Bon Secours Mercy Health – St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

A total of 16 members attended, hailing from 10 different healthcare organizations around the state. The topics presented included outpatient CDI and whether it’s here to stay, as well as a round table presentation and discussion on denials and the role of CDI professionals. There was also a discussion and feedback session for how the chapter did in 2019, as well as discussion of their 2020 plans.

The Virginia chapter also collected canned goods for the Virginia Food Bank in the upcoming holiday season. Numerous door prizes were awarded, and the chapter congratulated the three newest CCDS since their last meeting:

  • Ken Goodberry
  • Angela Jorden
  • Kathy Reedy

The chapter is in the early stages of planning their spring conference, which will be located at one of the Novant Health UVA hospitals in Virginia; updates will be released as they become available.

If you have interest in presenting for the spring conference, please reach out to the Virginia chapter leaders.
