Note from the Product Coordinator: Our library is growing in 2022—is yours?
by Karla Accorto
As Rebecca Hendren, ACDIS director of programming, said in her note last week, the ACDIS team really feels like we’re entering a new year now that the 2022 conference is behind us. As the manager of our CDI bookshelf, for me a new year means one thing: new books.
Right now, I’m excited to announce we currently have two books in the works. The first is a new edition of our trusted study guide, revised to reflect the ever-changing CDI landscape. The CCDS Exam Study Guide, Fifth Edition, by Fran Jurcak, MSN, RN, CCDS, CCDS-O, is expected to publish this August.
Additionally, our own CDI education specialist and bootcamp instructor, Dawn Valdez, RN, LNC, CDIP, CCDS, will make her writing debut later this year with the CDI Specialist’s Training Guide, Third Edition, expected to publish in November.
And of course, you can count on new editions of the ACDIS Pocket Guides. In fact, Interim ACDIS Director, and Director of CDI Education, Laurie Prescott, is hard at work on them as I write this. So, ACDIS friends, that’s where I’m hoping you’ll come in. Is there something new you want to see in the ACDIS Pocket Guides this year? Some reference or guidance you’ve been looking for and can’t find? If so, drop me a line at kaccorto@acdis.org. Laurie and I work very closely together on these books, and I’d love to pass on any of your feedback to her.
Have a different topic in mind for a book? Feel free to let me know that as well. It might only be May, but as planning a wedding has taught me, it’s never too soon to start thinking about the next thing. If this bride-to-be has learned anything this year, it’s that 2023 is not nearly as far away as it seems.
