Announcements:

The Oregon, Idaho, and Washington ACDIS chapters have joined forces to create one combined group! Members of all states are welcome to join the Northwest ACDIS chapter. The Northwest ACDIS chapter will be offering FREE quarterly webinars in 2023. Each which will include ACDIS CEUs. The March 2024 Northwest chapter newsletter can be found here.

Upcoming events:

• The Northwest ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, March 26, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., via webinar. The program is titled, “What the Bleep is Beeping? Getting to the Heart of the Matter: Cardiac Critical Care Review” presented by Mae Phillips, CPC, CRC, and "The Neurologic Approach to Encephalopathy and What to Consider When Sending a Query" presented by Yasmin Aghajan, MD. For information, contact Rachel Madsen (rmadsen@r1rcm.com).

Past events:

• The Northwest ACDIS chapter met Wednesday, December 11, 3–4:30 p.m., via webinar. The program was titled, “Common Chronic Conditions in the Outpatient Setting,” presented by Taylor Wiggins, DNP, RN, CCDS-O.
• The Northwest ACDIS chapter met Wednesday, September 25, 2024, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., via webinar for their fall meeting. 
• The Northwest ACDIS chapter met Wednesday, June 26, 2024, 12–1 p.m., via webinar. The program was titled, “Impellas: Getting to the Heart of the Matter,” presented by Alicia Pinsonneault, BSN-RN, CRCR, CCRN.
• The Northwest ACDIS chapter met Wednesday, March 13, 2024, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., via webinar for their first quarterly meeting. 
• The Northwest ACDIS chapter met Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., via webinar for its December education event.
• The Northwest ACDIS chapter met Wednesday, September 13, 2023, 11:30 p.m. to 1 p.m., via webinar. The program was titled, “Simplifying Encephalopathy,” presented by Dawn Valdez, RN, CDIP, CCDS. 
• The Northwest ACDIS chapter met Wednesday, June 28, 2023, 11:30–12:30 p.m., via webinar. The program was titled, “Capturing CC/MCCs: 202 CDI Updates for Clinical Indicators and Query Opportunity,” and was presented by William E. Haik, MD, PCCP, CDIP.
• The Idaho/Washington ACDIS chapter met Wednesday, March 15, 11:30-12:30 p.m. PST/12:30-1:30 p.m. MST, via webinar. The program was titled, “The Role of the Clinical Documentation Specialist in the Prevention of Clinical Validation Denials,” and was presented by Karla Hiravi, RN, BSN.

2022:

• The Idaho/Washington ACDIS chapter met Wednesday, December 7, at 11:30 a.m. PST, via webinar. The title of the program was called "The Role of the Clinical Documentation Specialist in the Management of Clinical Validation Denials," and was presented by Denise Wilson, MS, RN, RRT. • The Idaho/Washington ACDIS chapter met Wednesday, September 14 at 2:30 p.m. MST/1:30 p.m. PST, via webinar. Nicole Draper spoke about CDI in her country, Australia.
• The Idaho/Washington ACDIS chapter met Wednesday, June 1, 11:30 a.m. PST, via webinar. The topic was respiratory failure presented by Dr. Pinson and Cynthia Tang.
• The Washington/Idaho ACDIS chapter met on March 2. The presentation was titled "Sepsis Coding Documentation" presented by Dr. Limjoco.
