Local chapter update: Celebrate CDI Week with your chapter this year!

CDI Strategies - Volume 18, Issue 35

It’s hard to believe that summer is already coming to a close, but don’t worry, CDI Week is right around the corner to inspire some fall-time celebrations and excitement! During CDI Week, the CDI community focuses on spreading awareness, education, and recognition for its wonderful members. How is your chapter celebrating? We’d love to hear what everyone is up to and inspire other chapters and departments to get in on the fun!

As you plan, remember to mark your calendar for September 16-20 and keep this year’s theme—CDI in Orbit: Infinite Opportunities—in mind. In addition to the celebration recommendations from the 2024 Furthering Education Committee, the Chapter Advisory Committee also met last week and would like to offer more inspiration specific to chapters:

  • Promote the free CDI Week webinar to chapter members as a free CEU opportunity and way to learn with the broader CDI community.
  • Run a giveaway or raffle for chapter members during CDI Week based on submitted photos or completion of the CDI Week word find or crossword puzzle (both of which will be posted to the ACDIS website in the coming weeks). If your chapter does not have a discretionary budget to use, consider asking ACDIS for a product or ACDIS goodies to raffle.
  • Host a chapter meeting during CDI Week to network with your peers. These meetings can be informal networking events or formal educational events, depending on the interests of the community and volunteer bandwidth.
  • Send a simple email to all chapter members during CDI Week wishing them well, thanking them for their participation in the chapter, and recognizing the hard work they do every day. Include the CDI Week official poster as part of the email so chapter members can easily grab it for their celebrations.

Have ideas or celebration plans of your own? Send them to the ACDIS team at info@acdis.org!
