Note from the Associate Editorial Director: A year of the ACDIS Podcast

CDI Strategies - Volume 17, Issue 55

by Linnea Archibald

If you had told me when I started working with ACDIS in January 2017 that I would one day not only cohost a podcast but also produce, edit, and love doing it, I would have laughed at the idea. But here we are, at the end of 2023, and the ACDIS Podcast is one of my favorite things we get to do here at ACDIS.

This year, as our listeners know, was a big one for our little podcast. At the beginning of the year, we moved to a fully pre-recorded, on-demand format and launched a new CEU opportunity for those who listen to the podcast in the first two days after we post it. We also continued our rotation of hosting duties, meaning you get to hear from multiple members of the ACDIS team and we can bring you a greater variety of guests and topics through our individual connections.

I would be lying if I said our journey with the podcast has been nothing but easy. Over the last year, we’ve had technical issues to work through, canceled or delayed interview bookings, last-minute additions and edits, and more. But overall, the whole team is thrilled with what we’ve produced and, judging by the feedback we’ve received, it resonated with members as well.

Though we still have one episode left for the year on December 20, I wanted to spend a bit of time highlighting the 25 episodes and all the topics we’ve covered this year. Though the CEU period for each of these episodes has closed, there’s still plenty to be learned from our guests and I’d encourage you to catch up on anything you may have missed or topics of particular interest to your CDI practice as we look ahead to 2024.

As we close out the year, I hope you’ll tune in for our December 20 episode and claim your 0.5 CEUs for the last 2023 podcast episode. If you miss it, don’t worry: we’ll be back in two weeks to kick off the new year with all our CDI friends.

We say it every other week on the podcast, but please send us your ideas, topic requests, and feedback on the show. We would love to continue to serve you well in 2024! Send us an email at info@acdis.org anytime. That email address goes directly to our team and we love to interact with our members personally, so don’t be shy.

Until then: happy holidays, and take care, everyone!
